FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Will you be using your most important vehicle safety feature this long weekend?

OTTAWA, August 31, 2012 – Brain on Board program sponsor, The Toyota Canada Foundation (TCF), and program partner, The Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF), would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable last holiday weekend of the summer. They’d also like to remind drivers to use their most important vehicle safety feature, their brain, by making smart driving decisions while out on Canada’s roads this Labour Day long weekend.

To mark the long weekend, Brain on Board has launched a preview of the myths and misconceptions section of its website, www.brainonboard.ca. There, drivers can put their knowledge of vehicle safety features to the test and learn why it’s important to wear your seatbelt, why speeding is never a good thing, and how vehicle safety features “work” in the background while driving.

Brain on Board will be launching in its entirety this Fall and is aimed at informing the public of important vehicle safety features, their respective benefits, and ways in which the features work in conjunction with safe driving practices.
